The foundation of our journey was laid in the 1970s by our founder, Shri Surajmullji Rathore. With determination, ambition, and a strong entrepreneurial vision, he moved from Beawar, Rajasthan, to Chennai, South India, in search of new opportunities and long-term growth for the family. Entering a completely new market and industry, he built the business through hard work, relationship-driven values, and an uncompromising commitment to trust and reputation.
In 1979, the business officially began operations under the name Gautam Colour Company. Under the leadership of Shri Surajmullji Rathore, the company established a strong presence in the paint and chemical trading industry through dedication, customer trust, and consistent service.
During the 1980s, the business expanded into the chemical and textile sectors under Gautam Dyes & Chemical Co. A major milestone came when the company was appointed as the South India distributor for DuPont Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂). The company also strengthened its market presence through associations with Ciba-Geigy, Diamond Dyechem, Meghmani Dyes & Chemicals, and other leading industry partners across South India.
In 1996, Arun S. Rathore officially joined Gautam Dyes & Chemicals Company and began his professional journey in sales and business development. Working closely with customers, suppliers, and industrial clients, he gained deep practical knowledge of the chemical industry, supply chain management, sourcing, and B2B relationship building. Over the next 16 years, he played a key role in expanding the company's customer network and strengthening supplier partnerships.
As the business evolved into new industrial segments, the company secured ties with Cabot for carbon black distribution across South India. This expansion strengthened the company's position in the paint, rubber, plastics, and industrial chemical sectors while continuing the legacy built by Shri Surajmullji Rathore.
With years of industry experience and a strong entrepreneurial vision, Arun S. Rathore established ASR Resin & Chemicals Co. in 2012. Starting independently with limited resources, he personally handled sourcing, operations, customer development, and supplier management. This phase became the foundation of ASR's growth, driven by persistence, trust, and long-term business relationships.
The year 2016 marked the loss of our founder, Shri Surajmullji Rathore. His principles, ethics, and commitment to customer trust continue to guide the company's culture and business philosophy across generations.
In 2017, during the implementation of GST in India, the company transitioned into ASR Resin & Chemicals Private Limited with the vision of scaling operations and expanding into larger industrial markets. Although the partnership structure during this phase faced challenges, the experience strengthened Arun Rathore's leadership approach and reinforced the importance of governance, transparency, and aligned business values.
In 2019, Arun S. Rathore restructured the business and established ASR Resin and Chemicals INC., marking a new era of growth, operational stability, and strategic expansion. The company strengthened its portfolio across resins, pigments, fiberglass, construction chemicals, coatings, plastics, and specialty industrial raw materials. During this phase, ASR also partnered with globally recognised companies such as Lubrizol for their Carboset range catering to the construction and water-based coatings industry, along with Ampacet for masterbatch solutions.
Between 2020 and 2026, ASR Resin and Chemicals INC continued to grow despite changing market conditions and industry challenges. Through consistent service, strong supplier relationships, and customer trust, the company remained among the recognised players in the resin, pigment, and chemical trading industry.
In 2026, Araham A. Rathore joined the business, carrying forward the third-generation legacy of the Rathore family. With a global outlook and modern business approach, he began focusing on international business development, exports, digital transformation, branding, and long-term strategic growth to expand ASR's global presence.
